"Rose bouquet" Red coral and K18 yellow gold stud earrings
These red coral earrings feature a generous cabochon. We avoid shaving the precious coral as much as possible and seek out the unique beauty of each branch and natural contour with loving care.
Each cabochon is so large as if it might fall off your ear, and is carefully lined with 18K yellow gold that has been outlined to fit the contours of the earrings.
Unlike wood or shells, which are designed on blueprints, red coral earrings are designed by chance based on the shape of each individual coral. The hidden insect bites here and there can only be seen by carving the rough red coral, so the only way to know how to curve is through the instincts of the experienced craftsmen who have been working with red coral for many years.
How much should be left as is, and how much should be added by human hands? The relay of sophisticated handiwork between red coral artisans and jewelry artisans clearly highlights the scenery given by nature.
Red coral, which originates off the coast of Tosa in Kochi Prefecture, is a Japanese masterpiece that is regarded as the world's finest precious coral.
The deep red color with the transparency unique to it. Red coral, an iconic gem of Japan, loved throughout the world.

Red coral is a precious coral that lives in the deep sea, at depths of more than 100 meters, where no light reaches. It grows very slowly, taking about 50 years per centimeter. Red coral, endemic to Japan, grows in scattered habitats and is classified differently from the reef-building corals that create coral reefs.
Tosa offshore, Kochi Prefecture, is the main production area of red coral. When you visit Tosashimizu Port, you can see fishing boats carrying colorful coral fishing nets coming in and out of the port. At su Ha, we only use red coral with obvious traces that is landed off the coast of Tosa and has been through a log auction.
